2010 to Present: Owner/Executive Director of Empowering 2 Excel: Rehabilitation and Mentoring Services and founder of the non-profit “Rosie’s Wish” CDC.
2008-2010: Worked as a mentor to severely emotionally disturbed children in the Las Vegas community.
1994-2007: Played professional football for both the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League. Also was a coach for the San Jose Sabercats in 2007. Lorenzo Reed was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and came to Las Vegas in 1990 to attend UNLV.
Once he graduated, he started playing professional football but his passion has always been children. Lorenzo has been successful with youth in every state that he played in. Lorenzo founded Reed’s corner, a project in which he gave game tickets to local Boys and Girl clubs in the surrounding areas to attend football games. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Education and minored in Secondary and Elementary Education. In his off seasons he worked as a substitute teacher for the Clark County School District. He also helped pioneer the AFL/NFL Players Association that started in 2000. During his 16 year career in professional football, Lorenzo was blessed to make it to 4 Arena Bowls and able to win 3 championships. He and his wife Kelly reside in North Las Vegas and have five children.
